Sounding

Sounding is an option for those in pursuit of great pleasure and mental thrill. This practice involves the eye of the cock and the urethra), which is the tube that runs from the bladder to the end of the cock. The practice consists of introducing objects into the urethra, which can be solid stainless steel elongated cylinders with rounded edges, or out of silicone varying in length and width.

Do not share sounds. After each person, sounds should be washed and stainless steel ones wrapped individually in foil and sterilised for about 30 minutes in boiling
water using a pressure cooker. Alternatively, they can or they can be soaked in a solution of one part household bleach to nine parts water for half an hour and then
thoroughly rinsed with water. Alternatively they can be sterilised in an autoclave which uses pressure and temperature to kill any germs, an autoclave is available
at Piecing HQ and it is an extremely good way to clean sounds.

Catheters which are latex or flexible plastic hollow tubes (these can have balloons attached and can be inflated when inserted into the cock) are another form of play.
Catheters come in a sterile package from the manufacturer. Once a catheter has been used it needs to be disposed of properly; re-using catheters under any circumstances
will result in infection and serious damage. Catheter play is not a practice you want to get involved in with someone that doesn’t know what they are doing
particularly with regard to practices such as inflating and deflating a catheter’s internal balloon.
Both sounds and catheters are medical instruments, but are used in fetish play providing a twist on the concept of penetration. Inserting a foreign object into the eye
of the cock will produce a degree of discomfort and could increase the transmission of all STIs including HIV, due to micro-trauma to the internal membranes.
If you experience pain, stop, as it could be a sign of damage. Skilful use will lower the risk of infection or damage and increase the pleasurable sensation.
To avoid infections, use gloves, and anything that you insert into the eye of the cock needs to be sterile, including the lube you use. Single use sachets of lube are
great for this purpose. Catheters come in a sterile package from the manufacturer. After a sounding session, urination is encouraged in order to guard against infection.
Therefore it is recommended that the bottom drinks plenty of liquids cranberry juice in particular. The repeated use of sounds can increase the width of the urethra permanently
which for some is the desired effect.
