Enemas & Douching

Anal douches or enemas are used to clean out the rectum and, if extensive, the colon. Liquid, commonly lukewarm water, is introduced using an enema squeeze ball, an enema bag or bottle, or from attachments to bathroom hoses.

Why Do the Douche

Guys will douche as a way to;

  • treat medical conditions such as constipation
  • administer certain medicinal and alternative health therapies
  • administer recreational drugs
  • get into some foreplay or in BDSM
  • be cleaner when fucking, fisting or general arse play
  • feel the sensation of liquid flowing into the rectum

Daily douching can interfere with the natural function of the bowel, creating a dependency on them or a need for laxatives for bowel function. Probiotics such as Acidophilus – in yoghurt or in capsules from health food stores – restore digestive bacteria to the gut and help to reduce and prevent these symptoms.

Preparation

Do the Douche

While douching cleans shit from the rectum, it also flushes out the mucus layers that lubricate and protect the rectal/gut wall. With these protective layers gone, the douche water disrupts the lining of the intestinal walls can leave the rectum more vulnerable to infections such as HIV and other STIs. Water hotter than lukewarm may exacerbate the disruption. Try to ensure the douche temperature doesn’t fluctuate as there are no temperature sensors past the anus or further into the rectum. In addition, liquids other than water may irritate and inflame the lining of the arse even more, making it even easier for infections to enter your system.

If you’re using a handheld bulb douche – you’ll have good control over the water temperature. If you have a douche attachment on your shower – making sure you have even water pressure and temperature is key to a safe and successful douche. Soap will irritate the skin, so a little bit of lube on your nozzle will help get the party started.

The protective barriers of the gut restore themselves relatively rapidly. Plan douching to allow two hours before sex and avoid touch-ups just before or during play.

Most importantly, use plenty of lube to minimise the risk of cuts and abrasions from inserting nozzles or hoses into the arse. In some cases, due to water pressure, where the taps are not sufficient to regulate pressure (a gravity fed hot water bottle, type enema bag), with some form of feed control to guard against damaging the intestinal walls. Finally, do not share douching equipment or enema solutions with others.

Keeping your arse prepped and ready for sex isn’t all about flushing your guts with water. There are other factors that will be important in dictating how long your douche routine takes, or whether you even need to douche at all before sex. All bodies, and arses, are different – so what works for some butts doesn’t work for others. you’ll know what works for you but generally;

Diet

Diet

Having a healthy well-balanced diet is a great way to ensure that your anus and rectum remain fit for pleasure. Not only does eating right make you feel better, but it will also make your arse feel better as well because you likely won’t have loose or compact shit that can make the area sore or douching lengthy.

Try these four foods to make bottoming a breeze:

  1. High-Fiber Foods: Veggies – especially leafy green veg, fruits, wholegrain cereals are a bottom’s best friend
  2. Rice and Pasta: Rice and pasta give your shit consistency. Keep ’em al dente – as overcooking can mean the absorb in your food and not in your gut!
  3. Water: Soluble fiber needs liquid, so stay hydrated. Bottom’s up!
  4. Natural Food Supplements: You can buy a pre-packaged flavoured fiber supplement or go for fiber-rich natural psyllium on your cereal or some water or cordial.
